Kimochi Senior Lunch Program

The Japantown Task Force was able to make a guest presentation about the latest designs for the Osaka Way Upgrade project at the Kimochi Community Dining Program, which is offered to seniors five days a week at the JCCCNC.

Poster boards with information comparing the two conceptual designs, Kanso and Datsuzoku, were shared with seniors who were curious about learning more about the project. Packets were also available for seniors to take home if they wanted a more detailed look at the existing conditions and two design concepts.

Participants were encouraged to study the boards before writing down their thoughts on sticky notes, which were posted to each board and subsequently recorded.

Rio Zuann, a visiting Japantown Task Force Fellow from the Mitsui Fudosan office in Tokyo, helped prepare the materials and was able to put her Mandarin fluency to good use, as many of the seniors are Chinatown residents.
